This policy explains how Unifire AB uses cookies and similar technologies on unifire.com, what each one does, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our privacy notice, which explains more broadly how we handle personal data.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Websites also use related technologies — local storage and session storage — that work in a similar way. Where this policy says “cookies”, it means all of these.

Most cookies do unremarkable things: keeping an editor logged in, stopping a contact form being flooded with spam, or counting how many people read a page. They can also be used to build a picture of someone’s browsing across different websites, which is why the law treats them carefully.

Your choices

When you first visit unifire.com you are asked to make a choice. Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically, because the site cannot function without them. Nothing else is set unless you consent.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent, and it does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew.

You can also delete or block cookies through your browser’s own settings. Every major browser has a privacy section that lets you do this. Blocking everything, including strictly necessary cookies, may stop parts of the site working properly.

We currently use no cookies in the Preferences or Marketing categories. We do not run advertising pixels, and we do not embed tracking widgets from social media platforms. The social media icons on this site are ordinary links: they do nothing until you click them.

Our spam protection (CleanTalk)

Our contact and signup forms are protected against automated spam by CleanTalk. To tell a real person apart from a bot, it records basic technical signals about how a form was filled in — whether a mouse moved or the page was scrolled, whether keys were pressed, the screen size, the time zone, and which page you arrived from. These signals are used only to score a single form submission for spam. They are not used to identify you, and they are not used to follow you across other websites.

Most of these are held in your browser’s local storage rather than as conventional cookies, and the exact set varies as the protection adapts. They fall into these groups:

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they find useful. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else receives data through these cookies

Two of the tools above are provided by companies outside Unifire AB. Both process data on our behalf and under our instructions, governed by written data processing agreements:

CleanTalk — spam protection for our forms. Receives the technical signals described above and your IP address.
Google — website statistics through Google Analytics, and only if you have consented to statistics cookies.

Where these providers are located outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is protected by the safeguards described in our privacy notice.

We do not sell data collected through cookies, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
